Ceramic Rod & Tube
Accuratus maintains an inventory of standard extruded and cast aluminum
oxide, mullite and sialon shapes for fast delivery requirements. These
are low cost, quality rods and tubes that can be quickly cut to
precision lengths. (See Mullite Sizes, Aluminum Oxide Sizes and Sialon Sizes).
Accuratus will also custom fabricate any tube geometry not shown in the
standard catalog list. Please call us for your special

Manufacture
Low cost, volume manufacturing processes are used to produce these
tubes. Strong and impervious, they are extruded in smaller sizes and
cast in larger sizes then batch fired at high temperatures in specialty
kilns to maintain dimensional integrity and consistent material
properties.
Properties
Detailed information on the mullite, aluminum oxide and sialon is available in the Materials
section. The mullite is characterized by a low thermal expansion
coefficient. The aluminum oxide is noted for it’s superior
refractoriness. Sialon is an outstanding thermal shock resistant
material. Each material offers the designer, engineer and
scientist a cost effective, electrically insulating, high temperature
material.
Applications
Mullite, aluminum oxide and sialon rod and tubing find a wide range of
applications throughout industry and academia. Their excellent
combinations of material properties make them suitable for a wide range
of demanding thermal, chemical, wear and electrical applications.
